INDY OIL PIONEERS TECHNOLOGY WITH NEW ANALYTICAL CENTRE

We recently invested in a state of the art Analytical Centre to ensure our range of lubricants and chemicals remain at the cutting edge of technology.

A grand opening for the Analytical Centre was held on 24 November 2017 at the Indy Oil blend plant in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu- Natal. The 75m² laboratory features high tech lubricant testing equipment that exceeds international industry standards.

According to Alex van den Blink, Technical Director, G.U.D. Holdings, the Indy Oil Analytical Centre is the first laboratory in South Africa to have an Ultra Shear Viscometer. It uses the latest technology to test the viscosity performance of Indy Oils’ engine lubricants, against the high speeds and temperature demands that lubricants are exposed to in a modern engine.

“We are also excited about our new Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectrometer, this is a highly sophisticated instrument that is a rarity in SA labs. It allows for metals analysis to be done, aiding in oil-condition monitoring programs that require component wear and fatigue to be regularly checked.” adds Alex.

Indy Oils’ investment in advanced equipment of this kind attests to our commitment to offer a premium quality product that is blended and tested to meet OEM specifications and international lubricant and chemical standards approval.

The new Indy Oil Analytical Centre will play a significant role in the development of the our automotive and industrial product range, and entrench the Indy Oil brand even further in South Africa and the rest of the continent.
