At the age of five Greg Walker watched a kart race in Cape Town and from that day onwards wanted to race. His made his debut in a Lambretta powered Micro Midget aged 13. Next step was karts and after qualifying for the world championships in Portugal he was unable to take part when the SA Navy refused to give him leave. He raced in various Cape based categories before turning to national competition in 2009.
